Who's my friend?

My latest photo assignment was to shoot four pictures of someone I know and four pictures of someone I don't know. The idea is for me to post the eight pictures and have people guess which one is my friend and which one isn't. So... can you guess who's my friend?

I wouldn't classify you as my friend, but you know me, so I guess that will have to do. I WIN!!

The second one is your friend, for sure. He is drinking coffee.

The first one is your friend. He looks like he is trying to be casual, disinterested in the fact his picture is being taken. He is trying to look like a stranger.
The second one appears to be okay with the picture taking . . . but is uncomfortable, feels foolish or goofy having it done . . . Like a stranger would feel. He agreed to let you take the pictures but rather regrets it . . . and wonders why you REALLY wanted to photograph him.

The one with the coffee has one of those cooptive smiles while he's trying to look away. He's not exactly sure what you are doing, and therefore, you've decided to be more conservative regarding your angle of shot compared to the first subject. It seems like you are respecting the coffee drinker's space a little bit more. You went close to the ground with the first guy, almost a dog's eye angle... that's something I think most people do if they are comfortable with them. I don't think you know the coffee drinker. I think you did ask him if you could take his picture on the fly and he's taking it humorously.

Alright everyone... you're RIGHT! Well, most of you at least. :) The guy on the top is my friend Jeremy... the guy below I met five seconds before the pictures were taken.

In case you're curious, about 75% of my class got it right as well. Funny how cameras see things you don't think they'll see.
